Even though the 2NE1 girls were complaining and sad about the fact that their 2NE1TV did not air yesterday, the girls went on 2 radio shows – Sukira and DongGoDongRak today and did some great live performances.

And also other updates about the girls.

On Sukira:

Stay Together

I Don’t Care

On DongGoDongRak:

In The Club

T-ara SoYeon, “Giving up training to be So Nyeo Shi Dae? My will wasn’t strong enough”
6-member female group T-ara member SoYeon (22) talked about the reason why she has gave up training to be part of group So Nyeo Shi Dae.

The group made their debut on MBC Golden Fishery Radio Star on 29th July and SoYeon said, “Back then it was tiring. And I went through much hardship.” She has gave up training as part of group So Nyeo Shi Dae halfway.

When asked if she felt bad and regretful after So Nyeo Shi Dae became famous and successful, “No, I don’t feel that way. After all we have all trained together. I look at it as misfortune turned blessing.”

SoYeon has been casted to trained for So Nyeo Shi Dae with 11 other members in 2005.

6 member rookie girl group T-ara (Tiara) will be having their 'performance' debut on M! Countdown later today and the 6 members have been working hard to prepare for their debut performance. ISPlus stuck with the girls to capture some of their preparation moments in pictures. Check out the girls working hard to perfect their debut performance.

My flexibility is okay right? Qri is warming her body up by stretching in the practice room.

Member Eunjung is turning beautiful on the set of the music video

The nation's nuna fans were shocked at Yoo Seungho's kiss scene. In T-ara's debut song 'Lies' Yoo Seungho's lips touched with member Jiyeon's.

Did it come out pretty? After filming the music video at the Kyungkido Namyangju set, they are watching themselves intently on the monitor. Everything is still new and strange to T-ara.

This is the practice room in Nonhyundong, Seoul where you can smell T-ara's sweat. On the days where there is no special schedule, they spend at least 12 hours or more dancing and singing here.

Eunjung sitting on the floor of the practice room, trying on the high heels she is to wear onstage. They are 12 cm 'kill heels'. Will she be able to wear these heels and dance onstage?

"It's hard, right? Eat snacks while watching Hyomin's one-man show hehe."

Everybody is tired from practicing but Hyomin still has spirit left. Wearing a green hoodie, Hyomin is trying to lift up the mood of the other members by having a little dance time.

"Selfca continues."

The drama 'Soul' which is airing on August 5th features Jiyeon. At the practice room, when she has time, she looks over her script.

Under 2NE1 and 4Minute is the new cute, dynamic rookie girl group T-ara, with a soft and innocent image. Eunjung is hooked on taking selfcas while the other members have not entered the practice room yet. "What if I make a 'squeak' on stage?" Because of this worry, these days the members have been practicing singing when they have time. From the left is Eunjung, Qri and Soyeon.

Soyeon is playing on the keyboard for Qri as she practice 'Lies'. There are still many songs to record so they cannot be lazy about practicing singing.

Wow, its break time. Everyday from morning to dawn is the practice schedule and T-ara is tired. They are now having a fun break time. From their company Core Contents Media, they went on an MT trip with their sunbaes: SG Wannabe, Seeya, Supernova, Davichi, Black Pearl, Yangpa and Lee JIn to Kyungkido, Yangpung for 1 night and 2 days. It is fun just sitting together on the floor and drawing. At the playground they play soccer, volleyball, softball with their sunbaes while becoming friendly with them. At dinnertime, they have a talent show. From the left is Seeya's Boram, T-ara's Hyomin, T-ara's Jiyeon and Supernova's Sungjae.

Our 'no makeup' face is okay right? The members that look like twin sisters, Boram (left) and Qri (right). Exceptionally, the two members with big eyes are both 23 years old.

The 12th grade students are not battling with sleep. From practicing everyday, T-ara suffers from lack of sleep. Now they're so used to sleeping on the sofa or in the car, anywhere they go, they fall asleep easily. When there is no filming schedule, they are up at 10 AM until 2-3 AM in the morning preparing for their performance. The day they filmed their music video, they had to stay up late. Because of the late night music video shoot, sweetly sleeping while waiting for makeup, Qri. Hyomin with her chin rested on a towel, is trying to sleep peacefully with her eyes closed. While the rest of her members are shooting the music video, Boram is deep asleep. Sleeping in a line is Boram (left) and Hyomin (right).

Thanks to the girls at diadem5 forums for the translations!

Early 2009- Mid 2009: Introduction and debut

2NE1's first song was "Lollipop", digitally released on March 27, 2009. The song was created for LG to promote their Cyon phone, and it was a joint release with Big Bang; the commercial/music video debuted on March 28, 2009. Although it was not a promoted single (as it was an advertisement song, there were problems with network chart eligibility, "Lollipop" proved to be a strong chart hit, going to #1 on various online charts and topping music television network M.Net's online chart for four weeks in a row. However, questions were raised about the group's future, as the song's success was attributed to the popularity of Big Bang.

On April 30, Yang Hyun-suk revealed that 2NE1's debut song would be a hip-hop/reggae song, and that it would be digitally released on May 6, 2009. Titled "Fire", the song was fully written and produced by 1TYM's Teddy Park. Teasers of the song were released on their official website at the beginning of May, with a 20-second clip released on May 1.

"Fire" was released as planned on May 6, with two versions of the music video — a "space" version and a "street" version — released the same day. The videos received over one million views in a day; the viewcount then increased to two million.

The group's first performance of the song was on May 17, 2009, on SBS's Inki Gayo. beginning the group's activities. Their first performance was also included in Perez Hilton's blog once again, showing his interest towards the group.

Cyworld Digital Music Award - 2NE1 Interview

Both the song and the group have been very popular online, with the song topping M.Net's online chart and the group's name becoming a top search term. The group was also rewarded with three Cyworld Digital Music Awards, with both "Lollipop" and "Fire" winning "Song of the Month" awards and the group winning "Rookie of the Month" for May 2009. They received their first Mutizen award during their fourth stage performance in SBS Inkigayo (Popular Song) on June 14, 2009. They received their second Mutizen award on SBS Inkiagyo (Popular Song) on June 21, 2009.

Along with their awards successes, 2NE1 signed a deal with Fila to become the new models for their commercial campaign 2 days after 2NE1's Mutizen win.

It was announced that 2NE1 would be heading over to the United States to work on their album, as Interscope Records chairman Jimmy Iovine showed interest in the group; however, they have no plans to debut in North America.

1st Mini-Album
2NE1 ended their promotions for their debut single "Fire" on June 28, 2009 in SBS Inkigayo.

On July 1, the group released the title of a song out of their first mini-album called "I Don't Care", online. It is a totally different side and image of 2NE1, since "I Don't Care" is a reggae R&B ballad, co-produced by YG's rising producer Teddy and Kush. Kush is from a reggae group called "Stony Skunk". After its digital release, interest in the song rose greatly, topping Cyworld's hourly music chart after an hour of its release. On July 9, they released a music video of "I Don't Care". Besides "I Don't Care", there are 4 other new songs featured on the mini album to form a total of 7 tracks.

2ne1- FIRE (english version)

On its first day, it recorded 50,000 sales in pre-orders. Their debut was a success on the Korean charts, as it heads straight to number 1 for its week - as it sold 13,675 albums.

YG also stated that it already reached the 80,000 sales mark within 2 weeks which is impressive since 2NE1 is only a rookie.

"I Don't Care" was also profiled in Perez Hilton's blog.

1st Full Album & Concert
On June 6, 2009, YG Entertainment reported that thoughts of releasing 2NE1's full album will be September or October 2009. This album will contain songs produced by Teddy, Kush and Big Bang member G-Dragon. The release date of the album will be determined by future promotions for "Pretty Boy", a song from the First Mini-Album, 2NE1. YG also stated there are thoughts of having the girls do a independent concert by the end of this year.

2NE1 (Korean: 투 애니원; pronounced "to anyone" or "twenty-one") is a South Korean girl group created by YG Entertainment. First appearing in a Cyon commercial campaign with Big Bang for LG Telecom, their debut single "Fire" was released on May 6, 2009.

History

The group was first mentioned by the press in late 2008, when rumours were spreading that YG was creating a female version of Big Bang named Sista. In response to those rumours, YG Entertainment President Yang Hyun Suk stated that the name was not chosen yet.

In January 2009, it was announced that the "Female Big Bang" would debut around July 2009 with three members — CL, Minzy, and Bom. Later that month, YG stated that Sandara Park joined the group, with one more member to follow.

In the end, YG Entertainment announced that the group would consist of four members and debut sometime in May 2009. The company stated that the group had trained for 4 years, and that their debut album would contain songs produced by Teddy Park. The group's name was initially announced as "21"; however, due to the discovery of a singer with the same name, the group was quickly renamed "2NE1", which stands for “New Evolution of the 21st Century” (“NE” meaning “New Evolution” and “21” standing for the “21st Century”).

Beginnings

In 1997, she went to a Sarah McLachlan concert at age 20 and felt that she wanted to go into the music world and decided to become a singer-songwriter. In 2000, she originally released an indie's album in the United States, called "These Words," which received much critical acclaim. After graduation from university, she found a job in Washington, D.C. and worked as a secretary. She could not give up her dream of being a singer, however, and quit her job in 2001. She worked as a waitress for 2 dollars 13 cents during the day, and she played songs at night at a nightclub. Aki was briefly married to her first album’s engineer and the co-producer of her first album in Vienna, VA. In 2002, she composed two tracks for "Let It Fall" by Dianne Eclar, a teenage pop singer from the Philippines.

Debut in Japan

After producing commercial music for several Japanese companies, she decided to move back to Japan. On September 27, 2003, Aki saw Shiina Ringo's concert in Nippon Budokan Hall, and promised herself she would perform at the same place within three years, even though she was unheard of, had not yet been offered a contract with any record label, nor had she made an album or major debut. She performed live in many small venues and bars in Tokyo, wrote 100 or more songs, and also made several demo CDs. In 2005, she released an independent mini-album under Virgo Music entitled "One," which was the #1 selling Indies album of 2005. This alerted Nobuo Uematsu to her music, and he asked her to write lyrics and perform the theme song for Final Fantasy XII, "Kiss Me Good-Bye" in 2006. She contracted with the Epic Records and made her major debut with the single "HOME" in September, 2005. On December 26, 2006, she held the concert in Nippon Budokan Hall, making history there as the first artist to ever perform in the famous venue solo (with just her piano) -- no backup singers, band or opening act. Her long-cherished dream had come true.

Reaching an English audience

In May 2006, Angela signed with Tofu Records in order to release English singles and albums. Her first release with Tofu was "Kiss Me Good-Bye" as a digital single in the USA, with a slightly altered track list. Later that month she performed the Final Fantasy XII theme song, "Kiss Me Good-Bye" at the premiere PLAY! A Video Game Symphony concert in Chicago on May 27, 2006. With orchestral backup, she played piano and sang the English lyrics, which she had written herself. She also performed a cover version of "Eyes On Me", the theme song of Final Fantasy VIII, with her piano accompaniment.
