Nong View Pongchanok Kunklub who is a member of the National Sea Game Taekwando Team has won the 2009 Miss Thailand World crown. 
Phongchanok Kunklub, nicknamed Nong View won the 2009 Miss Thailand World on Saturday night, which has caused her to have to cancel her participation in the Taekwando competition at the 25th Sea Games, to be held at the end of the year. 
Instead, Phongchanok will be participating in the Miss World Contest, to be held in Johannesburg in South Africa and featuring competitors from 120 countries, which is the same time as the 25th Sea Games.
However, Phongchanok will come back for the Taekwando competition at the ASEAN Games and the 2012 Olympics in London.
Phongchanok said that she was inspired by Yaowapa Burapolchai, also nicknamed Nong View who was on the National Taekwndo Team and who won the bronze medal in the 2004 Olympics, to take up Taekwando and Phongchanok has since been selected to be part of the National Taekwando team.
