Kenneth the Page is on a mission to make 'TGS' greener and he enlists the help of the man who knows the issue best, Al Gore.
For the second time, former Vice President of United States Al Gore shows up on "30 Rock". Closely associated to environment, Gore will appear as himself and share a scene with Jack McBrayer aka Kenneth. Jack Donaghy tells "TGS" staff it has to cut its carbon footprint by 5 percent, and puts Kenneth in charge of getting it done.
This November 19 episode will kick off NBC's "Green Week" which is held annually. The Peacock is spreading a pro-environmental message across five of its prime-time entertainment programs including "The Office", "Heroes", "The Biggest Loser" and "Community". McBrayer said, "It's something that is relatable and is something that a lot of people are doing."
This would be the first time for the other four shows to incorporate a green story but not for "30 Rock". Back in 2007 Gore appeared as the old friend of Jack who advised the boss to create a "Green Week".
Indeed, the show itself is also applying the campaign backstage. "Everybody is on board with greening up the place and being more environmentally-friendly in real life," McBrayer said. "Every now and then people need to be reminded of things that can be done."
The second episode of "30 Rock" featuring Al Gore is titled "Sun Tea" and it will air on Thursday, November 19. When Liz's apartment building is converted to condos she has to make a drastic change to her living arrangements. Meanwhile, Jack and Tracy reevaluate their plans for parenthood.
