You don’t have to be American to appreciate the joy of a juicy piece of turkey

Four Seasons' Madison restaurant has a three-course Thanksgiving dinner planned for Thursday night

The buzz about Bangkok on Thursday afternoon: Where can I get in on some Thanksgiving turkey action? Americans aren’t the only ones looking to enjoy a juicy fat bird with all the trimmings. Here are our top three picks:

1. Bourbon Street Restaurant
From noon to 10pm on Thursday, Bourbon Street Restaurant has a Thanksgiving buffet on for 899 baht per adult, 499 per child under 12. Now this is the place you want to go if you’re up a feast that will require you to undo the button on your pants afterwards.

The list of dishes is huge, too huge to list here, but hightlights include cured salmon, Italian cheese sausage, shrimp au gratin, crab cakes, fish Florentine, shrimp bisque, gumbo with turkey, fried mozzarella sticks, potato skins, prime roast ribs, lamb chops, jambalaya, baked Virginia ham, roast beef in gravy, mashed potatoes in gravy, and, best of all, U.S. Butterball Cajun deep fried and roast turkey. And then there’s dessert.

Can’t get make it Thursday? They’ve got a Friday buffet too, from 6pm to 10pm.

For something a little more upscale that still allows you to fill your face, the Sheraton Grande Sukhumvit is offering a gourmet Thanksgiving buffet for 1,600 baht.

Special dishes include freshly shucked American oysters, poached Boston lobster, stewed black mussels, roast beef and arugula salad with goat’s cheese, Tennessee Caesar salad with Cajun chicken breast, butternut squash with spicy sausage soup and, of course, a tender roast Butterball turkey with giblet gravy and cranberry sauce, herbs and bacon corn bread stuffing and mashed potatoes.

There’s also mesquite smoked and honey glazed pork ribs, prime beef steak, tiger prawns wrapped with Canadian bacon and Maryland crab cakes. Desserts include Mississippi mud pie, apple pie, pumpkin pie, Louisiana pecan pie and key lime pie.

3. Madison, Four Seasons
This is for the fine diners out there who can’t bear the thought of running back and forth to the buffet table to stuff themselves silly. Four Seasons’ famed Madison steakhouse has a three-course Thanksgiving dinner from 6:00pm to 10:30pm Thursday night. The price is 2,600 baht per person.

This is not your average Thanksgiving menu. Starters are a choice between citrus-marinated salmon with quail egg or beet root carpaccio with U.S. scallops and walnut vinaigrette. Three options for the main course: sliced brown and white turkey and traditional condiments, pan–roast sea bass strip with artichoke ravioli and baby carrots or pork loin and mushroom wellington with fresh fig and apple chutney. For dessert, caramelised pumpkin curd, roasted pecan nut, butterscotch sauce and sour cream ice cream.
