According to the pageant official website, the fifth Miss Vietnam Global 2010 will be held in Planet Hollywood Resort & Casino, Las Vegas on Saturday, August 21. At the end of the event, Miss Vietnam Global 2009 ALEX TRAN will pass her crown to her successor.

The Miss Vietnam Global 2010 Pageant, which is schelduled to be held in Las Vegas from 18 to 21 of August 2010 at Planet Hollywood Resort & Casino in Las Vegas, has been postponed until November despite the fact that its contestants have arrived from all over the world.
Six Vietnamese beauties including Trang Nhung, first runner-up of Miss Vietnam in Photos 2005, Phan Nhu Thao of Venus model company had departed for the U.S. after getting a license from the Performing Art Agency.

“Phan Nhu Thao had arrived here before me. Many contestants are upset with this unexpected turn, for the costs involved in their preparation for this event had been high already. According to the Organising Board, the contest will be postponed until November 27. It is uncertain whether it will actually take place that day,” Trang Nhung added.
According to Trang Nhung, the reason given for the cancellation of Miss Global Vietnam 2010 was very vague. “They said that due to a few problems, they could not hold the contest at this point in time,” Trang Nhung said.
On her part, Trang Nhung shared, “I had planned for this trip to be both for the contest and my own pleasure, so I’m not really disappointed. Even though it is not going to take place now, I will still remain in the U.S. for about 2 weeks for travel. Whether the contest is going to be held or not, it’s not really important to me.”
As a result of this unexpected cancellation, both Trang Nhung and Phan Nhu Thao will return to Vietnam. In response to a question on whether the two will attend the contest in November, neither wanted to give an answer at this time.

The Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism has allowed Khanh Hoa to host the final round of Miss Vietnam Global 2010 beauty pageant in Nha Trang.
The provincial People’s Committee will cooperate with the Vinpearl Land Tourism Joint Stock Company to organise the event, according to a decision issued on April 14.
The qualifying round will be held from May 20-August 30 in Ho Chi Minh City and Hanoi for contestants from Vietnam. Contestants living in the American region will compete in the US, and those from Europe will gather in the UK. Russia will host competitors from former Soviet Union countries and South Korea will be home for to competitors from Asian countries.
The event is the second of its kind, after the first was held at Vinpearl Land, Nha Trang in 2007, during which Ngo Phuong Lan won the crown.

Contestants can register from April 25 to May 20. The short-list and semi-final rounds in Vietnam will take place from May 20 to June 5 in five provinces and cities: Tuyen Quang, Ha Noi, Hue, HCM City and Can Tho.
The overseas short-list and semi-final rounds will be held in four countries: the US for contestants from America, the UK for those in Europe, Russia for girls from the Commonwealth of Independent States and South Korea for girls from Asia.
The finals will run from August 10 to 21 at Vinpearl Land Resort in Nha Trang, with 40 competitors. The winner will get the highest prize for a pageant in Vietnam so far – 500 million dong ($26,500).
Meanwhile, the Miss Vietnam 2010 pageant will take place in Ha Long City from June 15 to August 15, leading to worries about the “scarcity” of competitors and lack of public interest. Le Xuan Than, Vice-Chair of Khanh Hoa province and a member of the organizing board, is not concerned because Miss Vietnam Global is an international event, so contestants will arrive from many countries.

The board also introduced clear and strict regulations about the age and qualifications of contestants to avoid any scandals that may arise after the competition.
Besides honoring the beauty of Vietnamese women, this pageant is a special event to celebrate the millennial anniversary of Hanoi. The interview round will focus on questions about Thang Long – Hanoi.
After the finals in August, Khanh Hoa will organize events to celebrate Hanoi’s great anniversary with the winners of Miss Vietnam Global 2010.

Forty-two contestants of Miss Vietnam Global 2010 arrived in the central city of Nha Trang, Khanh Hoa province on August 5 to take part in the final round. The contest will last until August 21.
At the same time, Miss Vietnam 2010 is underway on Tuan Chau Island, Quang Ninh province.
