Aashayein movie story around Rahul Singh which is(John Abraham) a compulsive gambler who wins Rs. 20 million from a bet and throws a party to celebrate. Everyone has a good time drinking and partying till late night during which Rahul proposes to Nafisa (Sonal Sehgal). He announces their engagement.

This movie is directed byNagesh Kukunoor. Director Nagesh Kukunoor has been a leader as far as choice and narrative history of real worry. Aashayein too, seems like “our” history. Here is a man who suddenly discovers that he is a few months to live.
The actors of the film though have managed to perform aptly, as their roles demanded. John, Sonal Sehgal and newcomer Anaitha Nair have played their respectively roles fairly.
The music of the film is composed by the duo Salim Sulaiman and Pritam, which scores a point, because as always, these music directors has given their audience fresh and refreshing music
