Kiran Rao’s Dhobi Ghat takes a look at four different characters in this dynamic city. Interestingly, instead of opting for the usual candy floss entertainer in her directorial debut, Kiran chooses to make a film that’s very real and also that comes across as personal memoirs that have found a place on celluloid.

Cast : Aamir Khan, Aasha Pawar, Ashok Varma, Danish Hussain, Jehan Manekshaw, Jyoti Pawar, Kitu Gidwani, Kriti Malhotra, Monica Dogra, Prateik Babbar, Sanjivani Oagle

Producer : Aamir Khan, Kiran Rao

Director : Kiran Rao

Release Date : 21-01-2011

Dhobi Ghat is vibrant and brings in the new wave of cinema which is individualistic and independent. Tushar Kanti Ray who is managing the cinematic score of the movie has done a fine job while Gustavo Santaolalla has given a captivating background score. The verdict for Prateik Babbar is also a good one as the actor speaks the slum lingo with an equal ease as he mouths love words to his girl.

The Lafangey Parindey movie is produced by Aditya Chopra and directed by Pradeep Sarkar. The movie Lafangey Parindey has Neil Nitin Mukesh and Deepika Padukone in the lead roles. The film is produced under Yash Raj Films banner.

Lafangey Parindey movie story – Nandu, a street bike gangster, played by Neil Nitin Mukesh and Pinky Palkar, played by Deeepika Padukone, a blind girl who wants to fly like a free bird and wants to achieve something great in life.

Not everything that Lafangey Parindey delivers is likely to strike the audience as convincing, but on the whole the impact of this effervescent entertainer is pretty rounded, which, given the many recent misfires from the Yash Raj Films (YRF) cannon (Tashan, Pyaar Impossible, Dil Bole Hadippa, Badmaash Company), is saying a lot.

In Lafangey Parindey, the Bollywood tapori makes a clean break from his usual moorings. Well, his lingo still reeks of the street, his wadi buddies answer to names like Chuddi, Gulkand and Diesel and, like all good aamchi Mumbai mulgas, they have a customary go at the dahi handi.
