He charmed millions with his bewitching performances in the Harry Potter films.
But these days, it seems Daniel Radcliffe is working his magic on one young lady in particular.

The actor has become almost inseparable from a striking brunette in the last few weeks - and even invited her to accompany him on a trip to Russia to celebrate his 21st birthday.

The pair were spotted smiling and laughing as they strolled to the shops near Radcliffe's West London home.

The mystery girl also joined the star for a day watching cricket at the Oval in South London, and was by his side as he downed vodka during his alcohol-fuelled birthday celebrations in St Petersburg.

Radcliffe later described the city as 'probably the most beautiful, the most incredible, wonderful place I've ever been in my life', adding that he 'went with two friends and it was brilliant'.

Despite his popularity with female fans, the actor has had only one known girlfriend - Irish actress Laura O'Toole, 25.

The pair met in November 2007 while performing in Equus in London's West End, but the relationship later fizzled out.

Radcliffe has also had to fight rumours that he is gay, telling music channel MTV earlier this year: 'If people want to say that, they can. I'm not. I'm straight.'

But his long-term single status is unlikely to be down to worries about gold diggers chasing his £42million fortune.

He once declared: 'Girls who want to go out with me just because I'm famous has never been a problem.'
