Yummy mummy: Dannii Minogue and friend were having fun shopping in a trendy area of Melbourne


She's been replaced by a series of glamorous ladies while she's been on maternity leave - so it's no surprise that Dannii Minogue has treated herself to a brand new haircut before she returns as an X Factor judge.

The star revealed the new short shaggy bob which is also a lighter chestnut shade compared to her previously dark brunette in Melbourne yesterday .

She'll certainly be hoping her new do will make an impression when she rejoins the show alongside Cheryl Cole, Louis Walsh and Simon Cowell in a few weeks.

Dressed casually in knee-length tan leather boots, a floaty abstract print scarf, tight black jeans, grey top and black gilet, Dannii looked absolutely glowing as she shopped with a male friend yesterday.

Dannii had been browsing in a designer boutique on fashionable Greville Road.

Perhaps Dannii was busy getting herself a new wardrobe together for her return to the X Factor.

Since the show started again last month, Dannii has been replaced by a series of stand-in judges, including Katy Perry, Pixie Lott, Geri Halliwell and Nicole Scherzinger

She has already filmed her 'judges' house parts of the show however.

Her group were flown out to Australia two weeks ago, but it's not thought it was filmed at the star's actual home.

Simon has already filmed his scenes on a yacht in Majorca, Louis did his in Dublin and Cheryl is filming her 'house' bits this weekend in England.

Minogue, 38, and ex-rugby player model partner Kris Smith, 32, splashed out £1million on a house in the East Hawthorn area of Melbourne in April, just before the birth of their baby Ethan in July.

The huge two-storey property features a large open-plan living area downstairs, a large garden and an outdoor heated swimming pool and isn't far from where Dannii was shopping yesterday.

In fact, although she's lived here for just over 20 years and arguably owes her relaunched career to Britain - it seems the lure of home is proving too strong for new mum Dannii.

It has emerged that the singer's flat in Battersea, London, is up for sale.

Dannii bought the two-bedroom riverside flat in 1997 and it's now on the market for £500,000.

She said of the flat: 'When I was working late into the evening with the X-Factor, it was great to be able to crash in this little haven of mine. It has views across Westminster and the City.

'I could see London twinkling all around me. I’ve got so many happy memories of entertaining here.'

On top of selling her flat and making her X Factor return, Dannii is also busy preparing to launch her autobiography, My Story, which is due to hit the shops on September 30.

And before that, she launches a new fragrance from her fashion line Project D in Harvey Nichols on Monday.

Life is certainly smelling and looking sweet for busy bee Miss D at the moment - wherever she chooses to call home.
