Girls Night Out: Bride to be Katy Perry and Rihanna pose with Cirque du Soleil performers during her hens party in Las Vegas


Rihanna spoke earlier in the year about feeling the pressure to make her friend Katy Perry's hen party a night to remember.

And after the groom was arrested at the airport earlier in the day, Rihanna had her work cut for her.

For her send-off into married life ahead of her October wedding to Russell Brand, the bride to be was treated to a production of Ka by Cirque du Soleil at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas.

The pair went backstage after the show and posed for pictures with the performers, Katy's hat and veil with the word 'Bride' on it firmly in place.

The stylish singers, who became close after holidaying together in Barbados last year, both dressed up for the occasion.

Rihanna looked more conservative than usual in a white dress and nude heels, while Katy didn't let her earlier run-in with some cheeky paparazzi stop her from donning a super-short mini dress.

The 25-year-old sparkled in the black sequined shift with colourful spots and silver sequined heels.

'I have to come up with something cool because she's getting married in India,' Rihanna told radio DJ Ryan Seacrest in April. 'So I'm like "Okay, now what do I do to match that?"'

Katy appeared to enjoy the girls night, tweeting the next morning, 'Signing up for a liver transplant now...'

She was forced to put her concern for fiancé Russell Brand to the back of her mind to enjoy her much-anticipated hen party, after he was arrested at LAX earlier in the day as they prepared to board their flight to Las Vegas.


Gal pals: Rihanna and Katy became close on a holiday to Barbados last year. She has spoken of feeling pressure to make the hen night 'cool'. 'She's getting married in India,' she said. 'How I do to match that?'


The comedian, 35, was charged with battery after attacking a photographer who attempted to take an up-skirt picture of Perry.

He was caught on camera punching the paparazzo in the face and was placed under citizen's arrest by another photographer until airport police arrived.

Katy jumped to Russell's defence, saying on Twitter: 'If you cross the line & try an put a lens up my dress, my fiancé will do his job & protect me. #standbyyourman #don'tf***withtheBrands.'

Brand was driven away by police, and Katy was left to fly to Las Vegas solo. Why the groom was accompanying her on her hens trip is unclear, by the I Kissed a Girl singer has hinted in the past that her fiancé has taken a keen interest in all aspects of their wedding.

'He's a total bridezilla,' she has said previously. 'He's like a freak. He's always buying bride magazines.

'Every time we go out for breakfast, he's like "Can we just stop and get a bride magazine?"'

Another of Katy's girlfriends, country singer Taylor Swift, missed out on the party as she was attending her band member Mike Meadows' wedding.

So it was down to Rihanna, 22, to give Katy the night of her life. The Rude Boy singer was friends with both Russell and Katy separately before they became a couple.

'I met him a few years ago when he interviewed me, and became friends with Katy later, and it's so funny because I would never have put the two of them together,' she has said.

'But when she told me it made so much sense. I was like, 'Of course you guys would be together, you are both just hilarious and rude and disrespectful, it's perfect.'
