But as she filmed her new movie Something Borrowed yesterday, Kate Hudson presented a very different face to the world.
In a classic belted mac, orange and white buttoned dress, and oversized pearls, she was obviously in character.
The 31-year-old has been pictured in a series of smart outfits while on location in New York.
Kate is starring in the film as Darcy, a beautiful bratty bride who gets everything she wants.
Her best friend, Rachel, a young lawyer living and working in Manhattan, who has always been the consummate good girl, ends up falling in love with her fiancé.

Ginnifer Godwin plays her best friend and rival Rachel, while Colin Egglesfield is the man they are fighting over.
The screenplay is based on Emily Giffin's bestselling novel Something Borrowed.
Also on set yesterday was Drew Barrymore's boyfriend Justin Long.
The actor was walking past when he spotted his A-list friends and popped over to say hello.
The He's Just Not That Into You star celebrated his 32-year-old birthday yesterday, and was congratulated with hugs from the cast.
