Angelina Jolie gave her daughter Shiloh a high flying thrill ride in LA on Tuesday when she took her along on a flight lesson.

She was in the pilot’s seat, an instructor by her side, while the four-year-old was strapped into a safety seat in the back of the tiny plane.

It has been reported that Angelina, 35, who received her pilot's licence in 2005, has already promised Shiloh lessons of her own.

Angelina recently said that she encourages her eldest biological child to embrace her tomboy style.

'She wants to be a boy,' she tells the August edition of Vanity Fair magazine. 'So we had to cut her hair. She likes to wear boys' everything. She thinks she's one of the brothers.'

Apparently coining a new fashion term, she says: 'Shiloh, we feel, has Montenegro style.'

‘She dresses like a little dude. It's how people dress there. She likes tracksuits, she likes [regular] suits.'

But Angelina isn't concerned and says she sees much of her creative self in her daughter.

The actress flew down to Mexico, this time she wasn't the pilot, to promote her new movie Salt today.

She plays the role of Evelyn Salt, a CIA officer accused of being a Russian spy.
