All covered up: Rosie Huntington-Whiteley filmed her first scenes on the set of Transformers III


Rosie Huntington-Whiteley has made her first appearance on the set of Transformers III, after taking over from Megan Fox.

The Victoria's Secret model hid her costume under a dressing gown as she smoked a cigarette while waiting to film her scenes.

Her appointment as the main love interest in the film was only revealed last week, but she is already hard at work in Los Angeles.

The 23-year-old was up against stars including Gemma Arterton, Ashley Green and Zoe Salanda to take over after Megan resigned following the first two films.

Even Heidi Montag recorded a video audition in a bid to make it on to the big screen.

But it was inexperienced Rosie who won the high-profile role - despite her only previous acting experience being a short promotional film for Agent Provocateur.

Replaced: Megan Fox in the first film


Although brief it was certainly memorable.

In it she played a wronged girlfriend whose boyfriend had forgotten Valentine's Day.

She visited his office, tied him up, performed a striptease, then walked away, telling him 'This will teach you to forget Valentine's Day'.

Fox's departure from the franchise follows a public spat between her and director Michael Bay last year, in which she reportedly said he was 'a nightmare' to work for.

The 24-year-old, who played Mikaela Banes in the 2007 billion dollar blockbuster and this year's sequel, insisted that it was her decision not to resume the role.

Her next film sees her star opposite Josh Brolin and John Malkovich in the supernatural Western Jonah Hex.

Transformers III is slated for release next year.

Rosie will be filming in Los Angeles for the next four weeks. It gives her ample time to see her new boyfriend Jason Statham, who lives in the city.
