Stepping out in the sunshine yesterday, Ronan Keating's wife Yvonne appeared to be putting a brave face on the affair allegations that threaten her 12-year marriage.

The 36-year-old was leaving the couple's home in Dublin at lunchtime, as her husband flew back in a desperate attempt to salvage their relationship.

In a series of emotional phonecalls and text messages, the Boyzone star has spent the past four days pleading for a meeting with his distraught wife after she discovered his affair with a blonde backing dancer.

The singer had been contracted to perform at the SkyDance festival in Zurich this weekend, but has cleared his diary for four weeks to return to Ireland.

However, hopes of a reconciliation were dealt a blow yesterday after it emerged his affair with 26-year-old Francine Cornell could have been going on for seven months, after they met on the band's UK tour.


Royston Robbins, the father of Miss Cornell's ex-boyfriend, revealed Keating had been sending the dancer frequent text messages since October.

Miss Cornell ended her relationship with Nick Robbins on October 25. The start of her affair with Keating appears to have coincided with the death of his bandmate Stephen Gately.

A source close to the singer told the Daily Mail: 'Everyone remains hopeful that Yvonne and Ronan might be able to repair things.

'It is going to be a long way back, but they have three children and we hope they can make it work for their sake.

'They were almost ready to move into their beautiful new mansion. They will meet up in the coming days and Yvonne will let Ronan explain.'

According to The News Of The World, the 33-year-old said: 'I'm devastated. Performing on stage at this moment was one of the hardest things I've ever had to do.

'I know what I did was wrong. I feel terrible about what this has done to Yvonne. But I'm not prepared to give up on my marriage.

'I've cancelled everything for the next three weeks and I'm going to come back to Dublin to try and make this work.'

Ronan's alleged affair with a dancer on tour was revealed when his wife found texts from her on his secret mobile phone.

And while Yvonne is determined to end her marriage, the Boyzone star has visited the family priest to ask for forgiveness and is desperate to win her back.

His wife of 12 years, Yvonne discovered the second phone and decided to go through the messages.

There she found intimate correspondence between her husband and 26-year-old Francine Cornell.

A source said: 'There were some quite suggestive texts that left little to the imagination. Yvonne went ballistic and told him it was over there and then."

Rather than deny the affair or try to explain the texts, the 33-year-old Boyzone star admitted he had cheated.

'There was no point in denying it,' said the source. 'He broke down in tears and admitted everything.'

Yvonne has now reportedly thrown the singer out of the family home and pictured yesterday without her wedding ring, she appears to be serious about ending the relationship.

When she arrived at the couple's new home yesterday - which is still in construction - an onlooker said: 'She looked pale and tired, but resigned.

'And she had obviously planned her appearance carefully because her wedding ring had been very pointedly removed,' they added.

This was the former model's first public appearance since the Keatings' announced their separation on Thursday.

Eyes hidden behind a pair of dark glasses, Yvonne surveyed the property - which is just down the road from the couple's existing home outside of Dublin - perhaps in a bid to lay claim on it.

The mother-of-three is said to be devastated over the shock revelations of her husband's behaviour.

According to sources, he and Cornell's blossoming friendship was the 'talk of the tour'.

The pair met on Boyzone's tour in May and June 2009. 'Ronan and the girl were certainly very close,' one source said.

And while the singer's infidelity is sure to have shocked fans, one former colleague said the singer is simply getting an overdue 'comeuppance'.

'Throughout his career he has always cast himself in an angelic light. But the truth has been far murkier,' they said.

'As far as Ronan's concerned the only person that matters is Ronan.

'This is the first time he has been caught out with another woman but there has been talk about his private life for years. Women have always thrown themselves at him.'

They added: 'Now you have to wonder whether he always resisted their charms.'

Last night Keating moved out of the family home he shared with his childhood sweetheart.

Dressed casually in a pair of designer jeans and a jumper, the singer looked drained as he headed to his car.

The star dared to give one last backward glance at the house before his driver pulled out of the driveway for the last time.

Yvonne, spent yesterday being comforted by Keith Duffy’s wife Lisa and a neighbour over a cup of tea inside her home.

Friends have been left reeling since news of their split emerged just before lunchtime yesterday.

In a statement yesterday, the couple said their split had been ‘amicable.’

And the couple remained together in the house for most of the day as they shielded their family from the media glare surrounding their split.

A neighbour out walking her dog yesterday summed up the sense of shock which has left friends and family of the couple reeling, saying: ‘It comes as such a shock, they always seemed so happy together you’d never think it.

As one family friend outside the house put it: ‘It’s is not a great day.'

He said: ‘I’m just shocked I got the call last night asking to come over to the house, and I found out when I arrived this morning. I’m totally shocked.

‘The mood in the house is ok at the moment considering. The girls are just consoling her [Yvonne] over a cup of tea in the kitchen.

‘The kids are playing over at a neighbour’s house.'

One can only guess at the mood inside the house as Ronan and Yvonne help their three heartbroken children Jack, 11, Marie, 9, and Ali, 4, come to terms with the devastating news.

The exclusive Abbington estate house in Malahide is home to the rich and famous with Westlife star Nicky Byrne and his wife Georgina also living there.

When the majestic style residences went on sale at the height of the boom they had a price tag of between E3,250,000 and E3,500,000.

The property is set behind walls topped with wrought iron railings, with tall trees and shrubs offering seclusion to the broken hearted star.

Electronically controlled entrance gates also kept unwanted visitors out.

The news comes as it emerged that Keating - who has reformed Boyzone in recent months – had agreed to be a judge on the next series of X Factor in Australia.

That meant he would have been away from home for months, which would have put a huge strain on the couple’s marriage.

And earlier this week, Keating astonishingly admitted he was surprised Yvonne had stayed with him for the last 12 years, as he revealed he can be jealous if the former model goes out without him.

He said: 'I can’t believe Yvonne has stuck with me for so long. I still get incredibly jealous.

'The green-eyed monster rears its ugly head and brings out all my insecurities. I don’t like it if Yvonne is out without me. I just can’t help it.'

On Wednesday he appeared on Loose Women and appeared slightly reticent about who was the boss in the Keating house.

Questioned by Kate Thornton, he said: 'There are decisions that I have to make, and I make, but with things like groceries I'm not bothered.

Co-host Coleen Nolan then said surely he couldn't cope without Yvonne.
Ronan paused, then said: 'Er, probably.'

The star was left devastated last autumn when his former bandmate Stephen Gately tragically died.

The group appeared on Loose Women to talk about their special tribute to bandmate Stephen Gately, who died last October.

They are staging a special tribute concert with a number of celebrity guests who will join the band on stage for some one-off special performances.

Boyzone's new single Love Is A Hurricane was released today. It is the second single from album Brother.

The group will be touring the UK in February/March 2011.
