Moving on? Alexandra Burke visits some newly-built flats in East London today

Winning the X Factor has opened many doors for Alexandra Burke, but this might be the best yet.

The Bad Boys singer was spotted viewing flats in a development in east London today.
A big smile on her face, Alex was shown inside the futuristic glass building by an agent.

The 21-year-old may well be thinking of buying her first home.

If so then she's unlikely to find a more showbusiness-style space.

The newbuild space boasts 'Intelligent layouts, bespoke interiors and light and spacious living areas.

According to the designers: 'Each apartment combines natural surfaces, textured materials and innovative lighting techniques for an aesthetic that is neutral in tone, but sensual in style.

'As you walk from room to room, heated porcelain-tiled floors flow into soft, luxurious carpets, while clear glass, glossy parapen, technical stone and raw limestone create the perfect balance of finishes.'

It would certainly be a change for Alex.

Until winning the X Factor she shared a double bed with her older sister in a cramped housing association flat in London's Islington.

Even after she won the show things didn't get much better, as jealous neighbours subjected her family to a campaign of harrassment.

Thugs threw stones at her car and smashed a window in their block of flats and even used the name of her No.1 hit Hallelujah - which sold a record 105,000 copies in one day - as they abused her.

The attacks became so bad that brother Aaron, now 16, attempted to take his own life in July this year, and Alex said she still fears for his well being.

At the time she said: 'Every time I come out it's abusive names. They start singing Hallelujah and shouting "Alexandra the B****'. It upsets me.'

But Alex, whose mother Melissa Bell was a singer with Soul II Soul in the 1980s, stuck with her dream.

She now has a new single coming out - All Night Long - and has made the transition from X Factor wannabe to pop star with ease.
