Surprise! Myleene Klass arrives at a Mayfair restaurant clutching goodies from her Baby K range for mum-to-be Denise Van Outen

As the creator of her own baby range at Mothercare, Myleene Klass has access to all the latest childcare creations.

So when she was invited to TV presenter friend Denise Van Outen's surprise baby shower this afternoon, she decided to lavish the mum-to-be with hordes of gifts from her Baby K line.

Arriving at the party in Mayfair today, the 31-year-old was carrying bags of clothing from the range, as well as a grey and white £85 Moses basket.

After shooting the latest Marks And Spencer Money campaign in the Caribbean recently, Klass was looking healthy and tanned as she arrived at the party in a beige trenchcoat and brown T-Bar heels.

Meanwhile, the guest of honour Van Outen, 35, followed a short time later, displaying her bump in a red Nautical tunic, leggings and coat.

Van Outen and husband Lee Mead are expecting their first child together, a baby girl, in May.

The former Big Breakfast host has cited her friend Klass, mother of two-year-old Ava, as inspiration for someone who balances motherhood and TV presenting.

Van Outen insists she is in no rush to lose the baby weight following the birth and will be too busy attending to the newborn to hit the gym.

She said: 'I used to run, but I prefer power-walking now I’m pregnant. I do 50 minutes, three times a week. I’m not planning on “snapping back into shape” in some ridiculous time frame after the baby is born, either

Inspiration: Van Outen has hailed Klass for balancing motherhood and her career

'I think I’ll be exhausted enough with a new baby to look after, never mind putting myself through a punishing gym regime.'

During her pregnancy, Van Outen has been designing a line of maternity clothing for Very.co.uk, as well as writing a pregnancy advice book.

She explained: 'One of my main pieces of advice to pregnant women would be to use a good stretch-mark oil or cream.

'I slather them on - poor Lee, it must be like sharing a bed with an oil slick
