There she is: An excited Peter Crouch points out Katie Walsh on the racecourse as he attends the Cheltenham Festival with Spurs teammates David Bentley (centre) and Michael Dawson (right)

After a string of scandals within the England football team, all the players are on their best behaviour.

But it appeared Tottenham Hotspurs footballer Peter Crouch couldn't resist a harmless flutter on the horses on the second day of the Cheltenham Festival yesterday.

Joined by his Spurs teammates David Bentley and Michael Dawson, Crouch was seen yelping with joy as he watched jockey Katie Walsh and her horse Poker de Sivola win the first race of the day.

The trio, joined by some other teammates and friends, were dressed smartly for the races as they enjoyed the view from the members' enclosure.

As Walsh approached the finish line, the Spurs players were seen leaping about in celebration.

The players were enjoying a day off training together before their game against Stoke City on Saturday.

While it certainly looked like Crouch, 29, had won some money with his bet, he didn't look quite as flush as Sunderland midfielder Lee Cattermole and Wigan defender Titus Bramble.

Looking dapper in their suits, the two players were seen counting out wads of £50 notes as they discussed their bets.

While the pair aren't quite on the same £10million salary as Crouch, they aren't too short of cash themselves.

They're in the money: Cattermole and Bramble appeared to have several thousand pounds in £50 notes between them

Cattermole, 21, recently signed to Sunderland from Wigan for a £6million four-year contract.

But despite his switch, the player is still on good terms with former Wigan teammate Bramble, 28, who has plenty of money to hand with his £25,000-a-week salary.

It looked like Cattermole's bet paid off after he was seen throwing his hands up in jubilation during a race.

Let's hope he didn't jump up and down too much - he has missed a few games recently following a hamstring injury.

Also spotted at day two of the four-day festival was socialite Holly Branson, former Tory leader Michael Howard and his wife Sandra.

Other stars in attendance at the festival earlier in the week included Zara Phillips, actor James Nesbitt, comedian Mel Smith and Manchester City players Joleon Lescott and Gareth Barry.
