As a high-class call girl, there is nothing that Belle de Jour won't do for money.

But as the actress who plays her, maybe Billie Piper should sometimes just say No.

In last night's episode of Secret Diary Of A Call Girl, Piper appears in a demeaning scene bleating like a sheep to fulfil the bizarre farmyard fantasies of one of Belle's clients.

Piper, who won over a massive family audience as Rose Tyler in Doctor Who,
to be courting a rather more tawdry fanbase these days. What started out as a somewhat naughty role is rapidly becoming something more disturbing.

In last night's show, seen on ITV2, Belle's nervous client Simon, played by Tom Price, informs her he hasn't had sex for years.

In white lingerie and a pink robe, Belle is confident that she will soon remind him of what he has been missing.

Talking to camera, she says: 'It's so sad when they're like that. Give me an hour with him, he'll be a new man.'

But as the action hots up, Simon reveals he has a penchant for the farm yard - or rather pretending to be an animal.

He says: 'Let's do it like dirty dogs. You dirty cow. You little pig. You dirty, dirty, dirty goat.'

Belle obliges him, replying: 'I'm so dirty. I'm a goat. I'm a chicken. I'm a dirty ewe.'

In a scene which becomes increasingly humiliating, she has to fulfil the wish of her paying customer when he asks her to 'bleat like a sheep'.

Last night's episode was the third from the current and third series of the popular show.

It began with another explicit scene which saw Belle describing a past encounter with a client to her publisher as she embarks on a new career as an author.


Piper has admitted to finding the graphic sex scenes difficult in the first series. But by series three, it seems, she is more comfortable with doing virtually anything on screen.

She said: 'I found them harder at the beginning but I just got on with it.

'You'd rather not do them but they tell a big part of the story and they're often very funny and, well, you're playing a call girl so it's part of it. I don't get too stressed out about it any more.'

But playing such a character has ramifications on everyday life.

Piper, who lives with her actor husband Laurence Fox and 15-month-old son Winston in a West Sussex village, has told how she receives disapproving looks when out and about.

Speaking on Friday Night With Jonathan Ross last month, she said: 'We live in the country and it's not what they say, it's the way they look at me.

'Laurence's fanbase is 60 onwards because of Lewis. They love him, he's their perfect piece of posh and I'm the likeable tramp... not even likeable, just a tramp

'It's quite upsetting, it's just a look, they're like "why are you muddying yourself with her?"
Piper also revealed her father Paul had tried to watch Secret Diary Of A Call Girl but found it too difficult to see his daughter in such an explicit role.


She said: 'He's a builder and he's at the builders' merchant... well you can imagine. It's terrible. "Saw your daughter on the telly. T*ts out again."'

Piper said she never discusses her raunchy sex scenes with her husband.

She explained: 'We don’t talk about it, we don’t watch the show together, he seems very relaxed about it which is slightly alarming sometimes.'
