Bound and gagged: Former Brookside actress Suzanne Collins in her new play A Fistful Of Collars at the Royal Court Theatre in Liverpool


Bound, gagged and in her underwear, this is Suzanne Collins's latest role.

The former Brookside star is on stage in a Fistful Of Collars at the Royal Court Theatre in Liverpool.

And her outfit leaves little to the imagination, with a scantily-clad Suzanne tottering around in black stilettos as she is grabbed by the throat by one man, then points a gun at her co-stars.

Suzanne stars in the comedy, about a Liverpool dry cleaners which hires out the clothes it is paid to clean.

It is the latest in a series of stage roles that the 32-year-old has taken on in recent years, with her acting credits including the Vagina Monologues and Educating Rita

She starred in Brookside as Nikki Shadwick from 1998 to 2003.

Writer Fred Lawless said he penned the play around the title - which was suggested by the theatre's chief executive Kevin Fearon.

'Normally I get an idea for a story or a situation or characters and then fill in the detail,' Lawless told the Liverpool Daily Post.

'But on this occasion Kevin suggested a name. I asked "What’s it about?" and he said "I don’t know but I bet it’d sell".'
