George Clooney was quick to stifle recent rumours that he had split up with Italian girlfriend Elisabetta Canalis.

And if these pictures of the couple getting intimate in Hawaii are anything to go by, breaking up could not be further from their minds.

Clooney, 48, took time out from filming his new movie The Descendants with a stroll along the harbour with his Sardinian girlfriend.

As the couple stopped to peer at fish swimming in the water below, the 31-year-old lingerie model gave her Oscar-winning boyfriend a well-earned head and neck rub.

Dressed casually in short denim jeans and a white smock top, Elisabetta looked the picture of happiness as she laughed and joked with the Ocean's Eleven star.

Clooney, who had earlier been shooting scenes on board a speed boat in the waters of Waikiki, looked equally relaxed in a sky blue T-shirt and dark blue shorts.

The couple, who were first seen together last summer, made their first public appearance together at September's Venice Film Festival.

Since then, they have been spotted holidaying together in a number of romantic locations including a sun-filled stay at Clooney's Lake Como home.

Clooney has also wined and dined his girlfriend in Milan and Rome - where Elisabetta lives.
