Wet and wild: Miley Cyrus and her boyfriend Liam Hemsworth take a ride of the Jurassic Park water slide at Universal Studios in Hollywood

It was splashdown for Miley Cyrus and her boyfriend when they paid a visit to Universal Studios this week.

The Hannah Montana actress, 17, enjoyed a day out with Liam Hemsworth, 20, at the theme park in Hollywood.

Wearing a loosely-knitted black top over a white vest, black shorts and boots the teen star and her beau took their turn on several of the attractions including the Jurassic Park water ride.

The couple ducked for cover as they zipped down a waterslide and splashed into a pool at the bottom - escaping relatively dry.


They also tried out Shrek 3D, The Mummy and the brand new Simpsons ride which is based on Krusty the clown's low-budget theme park.

It's described as a wild, over-the-top ride through the park in which the participants fly, float and crash their way through Krustyland’s kiddie attractions, stunt shows, and thrill rides.

The singer-turned-actress recently spoke about the first kiss she shared with her boyfriend, which same on the set of Disney film The Last Song.

She told the Daily Record they kissed just two weeks after recording a screen test together: 'That was the very first day of filming.

'It was nice to get it out of the way. It’s your job, so you’re professional, but it was a good way to break the ice, I guess.'

And she revealed that her scenes required a new kind of acting maturity, very different to that which fans will be used to.

She said: 'Those scenes are more adult than anything else I’ve done.

'There are scenes where we’re underwater, and when we’re kissing on the beach, and then when he puts some seashells around me – I think that’s going to be something that people do.

'They’ll go, "That’s what they did in The Last Song, it’s so cute."'

Meanwhile, Miley also spoke about how she'll be sad to be filming the final scenes of Hannah Montana - as she calls the hit Disney series her "security blanket."

Miley said: 'It has been nice to have a break from the show and play something a little bit more dramatic. A part of that makes me sad because the show has been like a security blanket. But another part of me is happy to move on to a new chapter of my life.'

Adding: 'Just because I want to move on from the show doesn't mean I don't appreciate what it has given to me.'
